Does this sound familiar? : Industry workers use political connections to obtain posts as government regulators who then decide to “take it easy” on their prior co-workers and bosses and not report a nursing home’s violations of regulations. After a while, this lax attitude becomes part of the inspector’s work culture. Then, a tragedy strikes.
This sounds like…..Madoff, Enron, Exxon Valdez, or perhaps Japan’s Nuclear Facilities correct? This article indicates this “trend” is occurring in the nursing home industry as well. Are you really that surprised given the money that the US government is forking over and that private, for-profit nursing homes are charging (up to $8,000 per month) for nursing home care.
